I have Kindle Unlimited and Audible as well as the Kindle Free list. This will be updated when I have a full list of what I'm reading. I'm participating in the Goodreads Reading Challenge of 2016 with a goal of 250 books. I have read about 13 so far. I passed my goal in 2015 but I started with only 3 months until the end of 2015.
*****Will update

Everything Else:

Okay so some good news! We're getting an apartment! Expected move in date is two days after our eviction date from our old house, which we were evicted from back in April 2015. The family had a sobering chuckle about that. I am currently learning HTML and CSS coding, finishing up for my GED, studying for my license and trying to find a job. I still plan on opening my own shop online for my crafts. Question. Would you use Bigcartel, Etsy, Wix or other? Suggestions are absolutely welcome in the comments or even a message! I welcome either! What works best for you?
OTHER: I am attempting to learn more about drawing because I have the talent of drawing stick figures. Traditional or Digital? What tools work best for you? I am not financially able to buy a tablet yet, so leave me suggestions on what to use! Photoshop, Corel or Gimp? HALP.

Okay. I've ranted enough. What's up with YOU?

Hey everyone!
I'm still alive and trying to be more active on DA now.
Forgive me that I haven't been around. I will explain everything but I'm warning you... this may be a lot of text.

Ready? Here we go.
So we were in the house we had been renting since 2013, my family having moved up to Massachusetts from the lovely state of Florida in November 2012 to take care of my uncle who is a grade 4 heart patient. He had been through the loss of his wife, heart bypass surgery, a dozen heart attacks and of course, extreme daily stress to simply survive. When we met up with him on his birthday, November 10th, 2012, he wasn't doing well at all, he was surviving but losing all will to live. So we assured him that we would help him recover and he wouldn't have to live on his own ever again. This was the start of a journey I never expected to make us homeless, struggling to survive. And we're still doing it to this day, August 29th, 2015. My uncle had heard about a house for rent not far from where he was staying at the time. A friend of his former employer. The house was a place for us to rest and at least make food for ourselves, we took it because we had no other option and honestly I wish we hadn't. The house was infested with fleas, insects, mold and hazardous materials in the well water. Simply trying to survive, we put up with it for a year, asked the landlord to correct things, a cleaner water source, the mold removed and to be battled against to protect us. A normal, caring landlord would have happily done this to keep it's tenants happy to be at the location. Long story short, she blew us off, deathly sick and wanted all of her rent money, no matter what was wrong. I was attempting to finish for my diploma at a local high school, as I had to drop out in my senior year due to my uncle's medical condition. So began a court battle to get her to fix things around the house. She fixed the windows and cleaned out all the crap from the cellar, but didn't resolve any issues that we stressed were essential to our everyday life, water, clean walls and installation. We didn't care about the windows in the giant spectrum of things.
So I went to work, having worked at Dunkin Donuts for a year. I loved that job, but it ended because of the new manager that replaced the original. Then I began working at a gas station about five minutes from the house. It was easy to get back and forth and a low impact job, but my boss had saw we were suffering and happily worked things out with me, so I had money to keep going, that we had heat all the winter of 2014. I worked all the hours that I could, basically becoming assistant manager, and one of the best workers. March 14th, 2015, my 21st birthday was the last time I could remember being safe, happy and not struggling. That was the month that I started my own business for the Company ItWorks. The company and my team-mates renewed a fire to survive and change things. I still run this business, everyday from the laptop and my cell phone before my keyboard killed over two weeks ago. I started my business as a birthday gift to myself.
But then April came and everything turned upside down. We were forced out on April 2nd, 2015, becoming homeless and having to grab the belongings we could pack into two vehicles, our three fur babies and ourselves, forced out in the middle of the night. Our local friend and her significant other had saw our situation since it started, had offered her home as a place of refuge, us cleaning for her and small tasks. My uncle again fell ill, and had fallen three times since we had gotten out of that horrible house that had poisoned us. He lost all control of his legs and is in rehab now to regain some of the ability to control his legs again. But he has a lung infection. We're praying every day that he can gain some of his strength back, but having reasonable goals as he is only running on 15% of his heart, dealing with Kawasaki's disease on the daily basis as well. Said friend has been such a blessing to us. She loaned us the money to buy a 85' motor home, regaining some level of normalcy. We're paying her back in increments and everything is starting to fall back into place now, but it's still hard, you know? Remember, I'm only 21, I have two disabled parents, a Vietnam veteran who has been the best father I could ever ask for. We swear that he is half robot though, because he has had two broken knees, a broken neck and is a heart patient himself. He's the rock of the family though. rvmp My mother has lyme disease, chronic fatigue, a weak immune system, and fibromalygia. She had worked all of her life, having lost my grandmother at the age of 19, my grandfather being an alcoholic, and my uncle, her other brother making some horrible decisions. I gotta give it to her, she's so strong even though her body won't let her be physically strong. My uncle is a disabled Navy veteran, a hard worker for all of his life. It shocked me having seen them at their strongest and now at their weakest. I'm trying to do all I can, but sometimes I wonder if I'm strong enough. I've had grand mal seizures, brain bleeds and was born premature. No I'm not pitying myself, I am strong. But I have physical limits too, right?
This turned out to be more of a vent thing, but I just wanted you lovelies to be up to speed to what's happened so far to us and why I'm relatively quiet. I love each and every one of you. You are awesome, remember that.
Heart 3D
So what's going to happen now? We're trying to clean up the RV, make it homey and up to date. Me? I'm studying for my GED, making sure my family is happy and safe, working from the laptop, and this coming month, will be opening PenguinnxCrafts on Etsy and possibly RedBubble for business. I will be stocking up loom knit items, knit items, crochet items and more. So keep looking for that when I release it! I will be also re-vamping my blog, so I will be adding the link for that in the near future as well
Be patient with me, as I'm recovering from a bad case of stomach flu and dealing with severe acid reflux, I will be sending lovely notes, comments and such to each of you.

I made a group.

I'm a very avid fan of Mikey Sellick on his tutoring site The Crochet Crowd on Youtube and Facebook.

I figured everyone could share their creations, just like we do on the Crochet Crowd page, inspiring each other.

I hold no responsibilities for the Crochet Crowd on Facebook, nor am I Mikey Sellick or crew.

I'm just a fan that figured I could help inspire others, such as the fans that have heard of Mikey but don't have a Facebook.

Fall is coming!

Wed Sep 10, 2014, 1:17 PM
Totally making so many apple things. Mainly apple pie. I've made two already and now about to make another, maybe a lemon meringue as well. And on top of that, I have enough apples to make apple jam or whatever.

Hopefully we can go apple picking soon.. and pumpkin picking after that. Have I ever told any of you that fall is my favorite season?

My parents can tell... I've been drinking more coffee because of it. It also seems like I drink more coffee during full moons too.

Anyways... catching up on Once Upon A Time before season 4 starts in 18 days. Shh... It features the Frozen cast... I can't contain my excitement. Netflix.. I love you <3

Brave is also on ABC Family September 13th, at 8:30 EST, I believe.. Google it, it might not be Eastern Standard... but it does show on September 13th, so I'm almost right.

Walking Dead comes back next month... I'm freaking out now.

Alright.. I think that's all for now.

There is just a bunch of stuff going on right now. Our landlord took us to housing court because the house she rented to us, had problems beyond our knowledge when we moved in. So I'm possibly going to have to move soon. Nothing new there xD

I have crocheted a bunch since my last update and I'll be uploading pictures soon.
I've missed you guys though <3

Oh and if you send me a thank you comment for favorites or something, you're welcome. I always try to reply back to some, but the comments send my head spinning, due to volume of them.

Anything you guys want to talk about? I'm here (:

It's Paula again.
I've been working on some things, mainly lap blankets and lots of scarves. I know my work isn't the best, but practice makes perfect right?
Oh that reminds me, I'll be opening up for commissions soon. The money will go to bills and caring for my uncle, remember I moved from Florida to take care of him? Well I'm going back to school full time, so while I'm going, I figured I might take a few commissions. Again, this is all in the works. But I will posting something very important to me after Thanksgiving. Bare with me until it is posted <3
I'll try to take pictures of the things I've been working on, good natural light pictures and post them.

TRADES!
- I know I am way behind on sending my trade items out and I do apologize. Those items will be sent out after Thanksgiving. Hopefully in the first week of December. So keep an eye out <3
Commissions!
-Feel free to send me a note on your ideas. I'll need tips on pricing and such.
Feel free to note me anytime actually, I adore hearing from you all!

Now off to bed, so I can get up for 6am. -.-

Love,
Paula.

So. Update.

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 15, 2013, 9:01 PM
I as of October 18th am no longer a employee at Dunkin Donuts.
My manager ended up having a order placed for my dad not to come on the premises, because she thought he would pose a threat. New's Flash: My father was the one driving me to work, on my days and the days I had to fill in because my co-workers had other important things to do, like go to birthday parties.
Sorry for the late notice on that. In other news: Winter is coming! ^.^ Yes. I am now addicted to Game of Thrones. Amazing show, just pulls you in really.
I have been working on some pieces as I slowly fall head-deep into this wonderful show.
I completed a lap blanket for myself in shades of green, made some scarves, and now am working on my own scarf for this winter, also in shades of green.

Oh by the way, notice the skin?
Deviantart was having a sale on Premium memberships, two for the price of one. I believe this sale lasts until the 19th of November. So hurry!
Well I just brushed it off, knowing I wouldn't be able to afford it. But guess what?!
The lovely Elizabethjunean has gifted me one! I seriously wish you could have seen my reaction, dear. It was priceless.
So here! Check out her gallery! It's wonderful! elizabethjunean.deviantart.com…

<is still currently stunned. processing information still>
But with me out of work, I will be going back to school in January.. high school actually.
There is another backstory to that as well, but that's a story for another time.
But expect me only on the weekends, until January, I will be on as much as I can.
<is also trying to take pictures of things to post>
So that's it for now, but feel free to message me! <3

As winter is quickly approaching, I'll have more time to be around.
Working at Dunkin Donuts is exciting but very stressful, hence why I haven't been around or submitted anything. But as winter is coming, business tends to slow down, giving the employees breathing time.
I am working on things to submit, so keep an eye out for those.
To the trades I am participating in, do not fear! I will be going to the post office soon, as soon as I have a few dollars to spare. Living in New England, you need oil to last through winter and that's a big tank to fill. Culture shock from Florida, definitely.
Oh I just made chocolate chunk bread, now to let it cool. THE AGONY D:

I'm still alive, people. Just working my tush off. In less than a year, I'm already being promoted to a shift leader. And a Michaels just opened up. I might apply there as well. I'm still crafting, and still have to send my part of trades out. So I haven't forgotten anyone.. just distracted.

No, I'm not dropped in a ditch somewhere. I'm sick.. and working.. and dealing with so much stress. Okay, so I've been sick with a cold or something for a few weeks now, but it finally hit me hard and brought me down on Saturday, I was supposed to work on Sunday and today, but I just can't, I don't want to put my customers and co-workers at risk. So I have tonight and tomorrow to heal up more then work on Wednesday and Friday.
I finished Lucky and Quirky's scarves and I just need to send them out, of course when I get paid.. and I'm still making my ArtCrossing gift.. I'm so behind and it's stressful on it's own.

I love my Crafting on Camera family and I miss all of you!! <3

As of Monday January 14th, 2013, I was told I would become an employee of ..... wait for it........
DUNKIN' DONUTS! :D
Now. I will probably not be on tomorrow, this is not a promise because I have to get up at 6am Eastern Standard Time to attend an orientation at 8:30am Eastern Standard Time. So chances are, that I might be tired and not log on too much.
But my first day is officially Friday the 18th of January.
I'm super excited and this also means I'll be able to take commissions and more trades.
Well that's all for now<3

So, I want to embark on the task of making a version of Tom Baker's scarf in the show Doctor Who, BUT.. I want to crochet it as a blanket!
Now the big issue is I've looked at various color schemes for it, I just don't know what brand of yarn to go with and what exact colors. Now if anyone has attempted this project, can you lend a few pointers or tips?
Thanks everyone and I will be uploading a few new scarves within this coming week, craft trades and Christmas presents.

Also. I have a $25 Amazon gift card and have absolutely no idea of what to do with it!
HELP!
  • Listening to: Buses across the street. Rt 20 traffic.
  • Reading: Mortal Instrument series.
  • Watching: Supernatural
  • Drinking: Tea
Step 1.
Make a post in your dA journal (the manual INCLUDED - I won't grant any wishes, if I see no manual). The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real-life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Step 2.
Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it!
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not, it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Step 3.
The list:
1. Yarn. Brand or Color does not matter
2. Knitting needles or loom.
3. Books, Mortal Instrument sequels. I have the first two.
4. Homemade Tardis or Sonic Screwdriver.
5. Dreamcatchers.
6. I think that's all, but if I think of anything else, I'll edit it here.

PS. I love Harry Potter, Doctor Who and The Mortal Instruments<3
and Supernatural<3

So. A lot has happened since I posted last.

1. I didn't get the job, or any replies to the applications I've put in.
2. I'm moving. To Massachusetts. Where I was born and partially raised. This is a big move from Florida, but I've done it before, so I can do it again. BUT..
this involves packing everything I own to transport. We'll ( My Parents and I) be driving all the way up. This will take anywhere from 21-27 hours.

so I ask the people I've started trades with, to please bear with me. I will have a different mailing out address. But Please, allow me the time to pack, all of the trades except one is complete. Pickel, your trade will have to be put on hold until I complete the move and am able to afford the materials.

The reason for moving? - Simple. My uncle is dying. Simple as that. Family emergency, you may call call it because that's what I've been referring to it as. He only has ten percent of his heart left and needs our help for the time he has left. So bring on the snow! I'm nervous and excited for this move, I never wanted to leave my homestate, but I was required to as I was underage at the time.
So I ask that my fellow deviants be patient with me. Especially with trade partners. I am not ignoring you guys. Please trust me that I am not ignoring you and I appreciate my trade gifts, they are Wonderful!

I have over five hundred notifications in my inbox as of right now, and I suspect that will build over the next couple weeks. ._.
I am moving the first two weeks of November, which will also delay my word count for NaNoWriMo. Oh joy.
Anyways, Keep up the good work, everyone! and Please bear with me (:
